Excited for our Girls program to join the DPL League (U13-U19)
Hello Everyone,
We are super excited to announce that our girls program will compete in the DPL League for the 2023/24 season. All girls age groups between U13-U19 will play in the DPL League. This is for our most competitive teams in the club.
With all the different league options out there, we felt the DPL was the best aligned with both who we are and the direction we’re headed. We understand the importance quality opponents and are looking forward to our players showcasing their skills on a national league platform.
We have announced our SOL GVSA coaches for our summer teams. If you haven't signed up, youcan do it here.
We hope to see as many of you on the soccer field training and having fun under the sun. The summer months are full of traveling and fun activities but at the same time we want to offer opportunities for our players to stay active, get lots of touches on the ball and play in a fun and challenging team environment.
Sporting CT UWS Women team - Sponsorship Opportunities
Hello Sporting Families,
In May, our Sporting CT Women's soccer program starts back up. Last year the team swept through the UWS2 League (United Women's Soccer) with a perfect record of 7-0 scoring 44 goals and conceding only 2 - this year we have been promoted to UWS1 (1st Division) and we will also keep a team in UWS2. To date, we have over 50 players interested in participating.
The purpose of the program is to provide the best female training and playing environment for as little cost to the players as possible. There isn't enough quality summer programming for females and we want to help fix that. The majority of our players are current college players - we also have some former professionals. Players represent schools such as UConn, Penn State, Quinnipiac, Fairfield, Univ of Hartford, Central CT, UMass Amherst, Virginia Wesleyan, Springfield College, Seton Hall, UNC Greensboro, and New Haven, just to name a few. It's an extremely talented and committed group of women. Coaching again this year are Tiffany Weimer and Matt Cameron; both USSF 'A' license coaches. Tiff and Matt are well known for their commitment to the female game.
We're reaching out because we're looking for sponsors and donations. UWS league fees alone are upwards of $10k; additionally we have to pay for uniforms, trainers for home matches, facility rental (when we play at Xavier), coaching stipend, and referee fees. We'd like to not have to charge the players more than $250 per for the summer; in order to do that we need your help and support.
We are proud and confident in the product we provide; this summer our players will get 30 training sessions, 8 UWS league matches, and friendlies. Other local women's summer offerings are going for $500 per player for 16 training sessions and 8 local summer league games.
Lastly, this program provides our younger Sporting players the opportunity to experience what the high level senior game is like. Our Sporting youth players are strongly encouraged to attend our home matches so they can see and feel the quality up close.
Please consider giving to the program so we can serve these women the way they deserve:
Uniform jersey sponsor and website logo add = $ 3000
CCR Fields banner and website logo add= $ 650
Donations can be sent to MYS P.O Box 852 Middletown CT 06457
Middletown Youth Soccer is a non profit 501 C 3 organization and donations can be tax exempt.
Thanks for your consideration and support any questions feel free to contact our Sporting CT Executive Director Goran Vasic at goran@sportingct.com

Gianna Rose Vincelett Scholarship and 3v3 Tournament
Sporting CT Members,
We are honored to announce that starting in the fall of 2022 we will award two Sporting CT female athletes with The Gianna Rose Vincelett Scholarship at her family request.
Gianna Vincelett was a member of the Sporting CT 2007 Girls team. Her family is funding a soccer scholarship with Sporting CT in her name because they believe that, like Gianna, children whose families may not otherwise be able to afford it should be able to play soccer at the Premier level.
Gianna loved her Sporting teammates, and their families and other children should be able to enjoy all that Sporting CT has to offer: competitive soccer, great coaching and a family oriented environment.
This scholarship may provide full or partial coverage of Sporting CT’s yearly fees. You can apply by competing the attached application form and returning it as specified.
Please indicate the circumstances that make this request necessary. Be sure to explain your situation in the most comprehensive manner possible to help us make the appropriate decision. In rare circumstances, your latest Federal and State income tax returns may be requested to verify income.
The executive board of Sporting CT will be responsible for reviewing any scholarship request and their decision should be considered final. Those requesting assistance for the 2022/23 season should submit their application by no later than July 1st 2022 and expect to hear an outcome within 30 days of our receipt of said application. Please email application form to frank@sportingct.com and goran@sportingct.com
*Please note – Scholarships are provided on a yearly basis. Upon completion of the soccer year families must reapply/ be reevaluated in order to receive support again.

Team Manager
Sponsorship/Fundraising
MYS league manager

If you can please donate to the fund set up in the Gia memory.
Regards,
Sporting CT Board of Directors.
To our Sporting CT soccer family,
Thank you for the outpouring of support in the past few days. Gia’s friends from soccer and basketball and their families have all reached out to us. We feel thankful that we were able to attend a gathering of Gia’s teammates on Sunday to see the girls and their parents. After many tearful moments initially, everyone was able to begin to remember Gia as the happy, energetic, funny young woman that she was. We hope this gathering helped the girls as much as it helped us. Goran, Andrei, Dylan, Emilie and Frank also attended and we were very glad to see them.
Gia’s mom, Megan, is planning a celebration of Gia’s life in the upcoming weeks. We think it will be held on Friday, August 20th. As soon as the details are finalized we will let you all know. Megan wishes to have one celebration for everyone Gia touched in all aspects of her life. Everyone will be invited.
